Very creative. Love it.
Thanks

I’m planning to do something with the hump similarly but still haven’t thought it out completely yet.
It's my semi permanent solution lol actually thinking about making some stake sides for the bed to match the vibe I'm limited on my wood working tools(and skills) are basically a drill, circular and jig saws I'd like to get a router and a finish nailer then I can try and make something nice probably upgrade the console for the 83 first it's just some roughly cut 2x10" but it works

Did you put on dual cats as well before mufflers? I'm wondering if we could just do dual cats and no mufflers with 2.5" pipe. :)
No sir. The Magnaflows were on the truck when I bought it along with a very ugly, sort of pieced together set of pipes. Money is always an object...I took The Truck to a very good local exhaust man and he smoothed out some of the issues in front of the mufflers and ran new pipes from the mufflers back. It now looks and almost sounds like it should have in 1987.

Wired up the USB outlets on my new console from Smokey Mountain Classic Seats, eventually i want to hard wire it into the fuse box. But I put a cigarette lighter plug on it for the meanwhile. I also made a foam rubber mount to hold the console in place without having to screw into the truck. So far it is doing a great job of holding it in place.

Replaced the grille, BowTie and 454 emblems. Grill was broken in a couple of places. New grille fit fine but was a bit disappointed that the three horizontal bars were simply argent versus chromed. Still it looks better than the broken one.

the LED dashlight swap is perhaps the best upgrade i've ever done to my truck. Best $20 bucks spent ever.

^^^^^^^^On my 75 K20, there are chrome "caps" on the 3 horizontal bars that clip over the bars and snap into place^^^^^^
Great example of why this is the best forum on the internet!

Took a careful look at my old grill and popped the bright molding pieces off. Cleaned them up and popped them on the new grill! As my dad would have said “I’ll be dipped in s#*t and rolled in breadcrumbs!

Just like that this job went from “OK” to “Hell yes!”

Was gonna say the same thing, those should be removable. We repopped the grilles but have yet to repop those trim pieces. Looks great!
Before you focus on reproducing the grill moldings, make the embossed trim for the door panels! Pwetty pwease? ;)

That has been discussed, but nothing further at this point. Maybe someday!

Plugging along on the 87. I’ve swapped axles & springs from the donor 91 Sub. Trimmed out the front clip & wired the lamps & washer jug. Moved the rear shackle 4” to accommodate the 56” springs from the Sub. Used the hitch from it as well. Installed 4.56 gears and lockers on both ends and trying to get some new hue on it by Christmas. It has came a long way from when I got it earlier this year.
