Yeah everything in the cab stayed the same. More or less just deleting the evap box and drier under the hood. Any unused wires outside got cut, heatshrink and taped back in the harness.

I did have to drill the replacement peice for the mounting holes and make my own hole for the resistor. Sealed to the firewall with butyl rope but I've seen some use rubber weatherstripping or silicone caulk. Not too bad of a job, I would like to clean up and hide all the wiring a little more though.

And besides the fact that everything stays the same, you don't have to modify the firewall and cab like you do when installing the non-ac setup.

When the only goal is to remove the AC stuff from under the hood, tha AC delete cover just makes so much more sense.

Ordered more parts for the 75 brake hoses master cylinder still need to get calipers but found a better deal locally ,el cheapo tach with a shift light and was missing one headlight ring so got that, yesterday I moved the truck to my neighbors dumpster to get some of the junk from out back and when I was pulling back in I was stabbing the brakes thinking I could get them to break free but ended up locking up the pass front completely lol luckily my buddy was over so we used my Jeep to give it a helping hand but the truck dose pretty good burn outs lmao maybe it needs a line lock still need belts and a few hoses one is leaking between the pump and intake manifold and a air cleaner, headlight I found for 14$ at O'Reilly's and still need some cab lights closing in one having this one back on the road

Growing up in SC I remember my Mom and Dad having to get inspections every year. When I finally was old enough to drive I had to have my car inspected once and then the law changed. No inspections since the late 90's I believe. People literally will drive dune buggies. You could drive a bath tub if you made it mobile. Now that I am in VA, inspections every year. No emissions tests I'm aware if though.
Last I remember "back home" in Charlotte....... Mecklenburg county was one of 3 (of 100) counties in NC where they did total inspections.
Now, living in Mississippi it's a plus (one of few) no longer having any type automotive inspections.

Tonight, I set out all the various pieces of the non a/c conversion that were given to me. Just about all of the metal is shot or rusted heavily.

I’m not so sure these things given to me are going to be super helpful. The non a/c controls look like they have a different plug, and the light bulb configuration is different. One has decent door flaps, but all of the foam gaskets (I’m assuming they had some at one point) are gone. Tons of surface rust. Of the two boxes, only one of the four brackets that hold the heater core is not rotten.

I’ll need all new cables, apparently. This is quickly becoming a project to be shelved and to collect parts along the way. LMC does have some of the parts if I want to pay with my left kidney. Hmm.

Not complaining- very thankful honestly- just farther away than I thought I was.

Does anyone know if I’ll be able to harness any parts from the A/C box to repurpose? Or are they all completely different?

I’ll look up some threads.
I think i might have one of those big black boxes that's Rusty. I'll take a look and see. If so you can have it.

I wish I could find a deal on a snow plow or free. I see junk for sale round here local "Gomer gold digger" wants more $$$ than a new plow would cost :insane: :happy175:
This IS a deal. Although I’m surprised to see it still for sale a week later.
I’d buy this in a heartbeat. If the truck is what it should be, an 80k mile grampa garaged truck, it’s almost worth the full price. And the plow is a $5-6k unit pretty sure.
Bonus that a heavy duty NEW plow setup is hooked to a low mile version of GMs most reliable truck.

Heck if you’re anywhere near a decent size town/city you could probably pay for the whole thing by the end of the year just plowing some driveways.

I got the dually a friend, does that count? A buddy's '68 drag truck that I'll be redoing the firewall and building a new trans/driveshaft tunnel for. Big block he built for it sits back several inches from factory location. It has a full chromoly rear/front suspension with coilovers, frame stiffners and soon to be cage

I added oil by the quart, waiting and checking, until the engine was full and running normal, I had to drive the truck today as my better half has expired tags. She now needs the CRV for the current daily holiday stuff with the kids. The truck drove well on the way to work(30 minute ride). OP was at 35 or higher. After out of work checked the oil and it looked good. Stopped and got some high mileage Lucas Stabilizer added half a quart and drove home. Driving it today/tomorrow as well. Wife's car is inspected Tuesday.

Fixed a droopy headlight by replacing the plastic doo dad behind the adjuster. Black (old one) was internally stripped and cracked.
Those inserts (China) stink! I've not had great success with those holding. I've learned to use the factory adjuster along with 1/4-28 nuts & flat washers. It's a more permanent fix but unfortunately it can be difficult reaching some of the retaining nuts when adjusting.

Well, there ya have it! Perhaps was low on oil, had pressure until what was in there pumped to the top of engines then was starving? Either way, glad you’re back on the road!

If so, you don't need to use that product in your engine. Engine oil is pumped through oil galleries to the areas that need to be lubricated, and splashed by the crank and connecting rods, not pulled up by gears. When you change your oil I would recommend not adding it back.

Glad you got the oil back up to the proper level and that the oil pressure is back to normal

If so, you don't need to use that product in your engine. Actually using the Lucas stabilizer was recommended by someone I trust. I will take your feedback in to consideration. When I change the oil I don’t plan to use stabilizer. This use of the stabilizer was intended to get things back to normal so to speak. My engine was really dry just as it was indicating through the guage and noises it was making. Thanks @DoubleDingo
