I've got one of those NP203/TH400 setup somewhere out in the weeds. I love those dual crossmembers with skidplate. I'm building a '78 K20 GMC with almost the same setup as you with the exception of mine being SM465/NP205. Keep your pics coming and let us know the "what-for" on the hole alignments when you find out.

I was going to mention that I've seen 20's with TH350 trannies which are shorter than the TH400. @Idaho, you bought your K20 when I was only a few months old!!! Wow.

Wow, replied with sign language too!!! My dear ole dad bought his (mine) crew C20 when I was 5 years old. He told me several times while growing up that "there was a time when I was thousands of times older than you, but you're catching up". When I finally was smart enough to realize what he was saying it was a great "AHA" moment. Now, I tell my kids and Grands that same thing he told me years back. Enjoy the birthdays @idahovette, I'm certain there is much experience that comes with those annual reminders.

We decided to move the cross members. Thank you all for the welcome notes and feedback! It’s still a mystery as to why the mounting positions didn’t line up.

Since it is a fairly small amount, it is possible the front motor mount brackets were moved. They are slotted and have fore/aft adjustment.
