3M Tape on cab moldings

I have a 1981 That has no cab moldings at all not even the holes where they go has anyone every used 3M tape if so how has it hold up do you happen to have any pictures thank you.

I used 3M tape for my badges 10 years ago, they are still holding strong.

3m VHB- Very High Bond tape is what you want.

You can get the factory style clips and use sheet metal screws to attach them to the back of your cab. Drill the holes for the corner moldings...

Yes. I was thinking side moldings when I posted. But the Op hasn’t been back to his thread to confirm.
When I put the rear cab band on the 86 (weird it was a fully loaded truck with about every option except that piece), I thought about trying to stick the clips on with vhb tape. But decided I didn’t want to test my theory and just drilled the holes.

Yes I was taking about the cab molding the one below the rear window and side of cab

They make special trim screw you can use to put the molding clips on if you desire to go that route. They would take the place of the little posts. Same as for windshield molding. You can get them on ebay cheap.

Any link or part# for the trim screws referenced above? I purchased NOS 3 piece cab molding and small.tailgate band for.my 79. Really want to just use 3m vhb tape but nervous of going that route

I think the back piece cab molding would work if using the plastic clips. The corner pieces need to be drilled and fastened with the nut though. Plus if the tape fails it won’t fall off as it’s also retained by the corner pieces.
Idk about the small 70s tailgate band. Depends how much surface area you have for the tape to contact. I know it won’t work for the big tailgate bands.
