A/C pancake compressor leaking

As part of my Vintage air system I am using an AC Delco pancake compressor. This compressor has developed a leak at the front of the clutch right near the center bolt.

Does anyone know how to fix a leak like this maybe a new o ring or something else I can do to fix it?

I also have a small leak at the rear manifold but this is a bit more straightforward to fix by replacing the seals and orings.

You can get a rebuild kit but, you're going to have to find someone who can evacuate the system for you.

I have gauges and a vacuum pump and oil for the compressor. Where can I get the kit?

Get the part number off of the compressor and google it with the words rebuild kit.

It is common for those to leak where the case seals to the steel band. Although I have replaced a lot of front seals on the older 6 piston design, never messed with one of those due to the fact they don't seem to be very durable. Always replaced the unit.

There should have been numbers in the silver area. I can't tell what is on the sticker under the brace to the right.

If you want to replace the front shaft seal you are going to need a special clutch puller and installer. You will also need to gap the clutch when you begin to install it. If it is leaking around the case and at the rear I would recommend replacing the compressor. It will cost a little more but you get a better result. Hope this helps.

I called Jeg’s today and found out what compressor it shipped with and ordered a new one with a two year warranty.
