Engine stabilizer bar

I just swapped out the engine on my 1984 K10 I’m currently trying to get everything back together. There are 2 stabilizer bars that connect from the engine mount plate and connect to the flywheel cover. My new oil pan is wider than the old pan and now the stabilizer bar on the driver side will not mount. I will attach a picture. I’m wondering how I should deal with the bar. My first thought is to fabricate a small piece of steel to attach the bar , but any one ever deal with this situation before. Any help would be appreciated.

I prefer to keep the bars myself but lots of them get scrapped, it’s not the end of the world. I had a motor with a big Canton pan years ago and had to leave the bars off, I never had any problems.

You could get some longer 1/4” flat stock that spans the 2 converter cover bolt bosses and attach the bar to it.

Thank you I think I am going to go that route I will get a piece of stock about 9 or 10 inches long and attach the bar on the one side to that. I just hate eliminating it.

That's an expensive part for mass production. If not needed GM would have eliminated it. Be willing to bet they had case fractures during testing.

Unless it is bolted in 3 places or bolted in 2 and welded it won't be much if any better than eliminating it. If only 2 bolts are used the bracket will pivot on 1 bolt.

what I was going to say, there needs to be an extension of the rods purpose, which is to spread out and distribute some of those forces they face, and having a basically flimsy connection will just disspiate it into a fancy decoration

When you said 9 inches I didn't think that would span both bolt holes plus the extra inch and a half you need so I wasn't understanding. Sorry
