What's up Guys and Gals, new guy here from the Boise area. I've had a 89 V2500 for about a decade now. When I got her it had 35's with a 4" Rough Country lift (springs front, block rear) and a ridiculously underpowered TBI 350. Actually it may have been a 305, I don't remember honestly. Guy I bought it from had receipts for the freshly rebuilt TH400 under it as well. Shortly afterwards I had an overheating issue after climbing the lamest hill and decided something had to be done about the engine. Started as a rebuild and quickly turned into a crate BBC project that is almost complete. Life threw a couple curve balls at me and the Burb got mothballed for the past 8 years. I finally have a couple nickels saved up so I've decided to have a shop finish up the few loose ends and at least get it running again. Pricey yes, but I just lost all motivation and am hoping that hearing that 450 horse big block with open headers will get me fired up again and I'll get back to it. Anyways, sorry for the novel, I'm excited to try any knowledge I can from you all as I struggle to get this baby back out wheelin!

Thanks all! I talked to the mechanic that my brother in law recommended a couple days ago and felt good about things. He's a suburban fan himself that has done many Duramax swaps (not sure if they were square body or OBS). But the important thing is i left the conversation having confidence in his abilities. I could easily finish it myself but i have the equivalent of writers block at the moment. Hard to explain and even harder to endure. But just my lurking around here and talking to him is quickly breaking me out of the funk. I spent hours today trying to figure out WTF im going to do about my wheels/tires. After I pulled the original motor I was in a bit of a spending spree on the Burb and bought (without much research) a set of Goodyear military OZ tires and appropriate rims, and have since then sold the 35s and wheels that were on it. They rub like crazy :emotions122:I really don't want to go any taller on the lift so I'm thinking about cutting the fenders and sealing them from rust somehow, and using some bolt on or rivet on fender flares. Something like this https://pacerperformance.com/products-footer/flexy-flares/universal/no-lip-side-mount/52-178-detail . Though I need to research what offset I got on the rims..... YEP, I'm definitely interested again! :driver:

Did that article refer to the supposed people of "Idaho" as "Idahoers"

I'm going to share that article with any/everyone I know or meet from this day forward. People deserve to know the truth!
