Throttle sticking

what would cause the throttle to stick on 1987 7.4 tbi only when trying to depress the accelerator. when the engine is off the accelerator moves free​

Check that the cable isn't binding and clean throttle plates.

Also could be iac hanging up or possibly bad tps sensor causing high idle. Had that before. Thought throttle was sticking.
Also check cruise control pod sticking?

If base idle isn't adjusted properly throttle plates can stick. In other words throttle is closed too much causing plates to stick in the bore. Disconnect throttle cable to isolate it from the TBI unit. Check if it still sticks.
