Lift kit Suburban

So new to me 1990 v1500 silverado burb, thinking of going with either a 4'' or a 2'' suspension lift with 33's. Any tips on what and what not to do? Figured one of yall could chime in and save me some grief.

some people run 33s with no lift my burb has a 2 inch lift with 33, 4 inch lift looks better with 35s in my opinion

Not the cheapest route but depending on how serious you are I recommend ORD. The ride is significantly smoother than my dead stock springs were.

I have a 89 v1500 with the 2" custom leaf spring lift and 33" tires. Sometimes I wonder if I could fit bigger tires or not. Up close it looks right but sometimes at a distance the tires look a bit small.

I just added a Dirtcom trailswing HD rear tire carrier today and it did bring the rear down just slightly. Which I like better.


I also added wheels spacers. I know that can be a polarizing topic but the overall track just looked too narrow for me. The rear track is also about 1.5" narrower per side (3" overall). So I went with 1" spacers in the front and 2.5" in the rear. One day I'll upgrade the axels and just go with a bit wider ones, but for now it works. I went with https://www.motorsport-tech.com/ for the spacers.

Looks fantastic, how stiff of a ride is it compared to stock? im curious about the tire size and if will make the motor feel sluggish?

The ride is great. It’s much softer than the stock springs were and I’m very happy with them.

The tire size is great with the rear end I have. I am pretty sure my truck has the 3.73 rear end. It’s definitely not sluggish and pulls nicely. I will try and get a 0-60 video this week.

Now with the glowing review above, please consider that the review is taking into account that this is still a 35 year old leaf sprung truck with the stock engine. It’s not as fast, nimble, or smooth as my wife’s 2013 Tahoe. But I daily drive it and love every minute of it.

33's will be okay with 3.73's, 35's will make the highway speeds sluggish. 4 inch lift should have 35's otherwise the tires look on the small side.
