I spied out two 91/92 Z28 cars today while doing Driver's Ed. I always liked that tall deck spoiler & twin pockets on the hood. I couldn't afford them when new & now I have too dern many to mess with! One can still daydream though...

In '92 a pal of mine bought a red over red RS 5.0 5speed, it was our Sr year. He smoked so much herb that I ended up driving the car more than he did while new. He eventually dropped out of HS & continued to smoke up his inheritance. He trashed it & sold it for a few more fixes. I sure did like that car.

HS
There was a trick on the 5speed manual cars too. A person could run the numbers out in 4th & set the cruise. Then a person could shift clutchless to 5th & it would sail on! A person told me anyways...4th, with the shift light illuminated like a beacon! If a person touched the clutch it would starve back to somewhere around the century mark, that's why it had to be shifted clutchless.

Unless you went and saw the car, I had not posted the RPO codes before you stated it had the Bose stuff.
I see the code on my chart, but I haven't posted a photo of the rear hatch speakers.

You are magic.

Unless you are more nerd and saw something in the photos that I posted earlier that shows it....

Haha, I put the plate in a site and got the VIN, then ran that. I don't have any production numbers on it though, if you're interested in that, I can get them in a day or two.

The Bose-specific kick panel is visible in one picture I noticed.

I had made her make all the connections and phone calls to the gentleman that was selling the car.
He is a 70 year old guy that over the phone wanted to make sure she knew what she was getting into as he knew she is an 18 year old girl.
So I put Max on the phone and he let him know we are better than novice with mechanical things.

The car is by no means perfect, it is far from it.
But it has good bones and seems to start right up after a few weeks of not being run.
There is a musty old car smell to it as well, but pulling up the carpet in the footwell shows NO rust.
Same pulling up the spare tire well carpet, no rust back there either.

It was originally green, but the PO to the PO has used plasti dip on it.
So that will be an adventure to figure out how to remove and then get it done.
The guy that did it, sprayed over everything but the glass, head, and tail lights.
Genius.

It is missing the headliner parts between the T-tops and some time in its past somebody broke in and stole the sub woofer out of it.
So the trunk is accessed via screwdriver.
The trim that goes over the rear speakers is also gone on both sides for some reason.

These pictures here show the Bose kick panels.

Is the Bose storage well cover still present in the back?

I had Max pull the kick panels out and sure enough they are Bose.
They wont stay Bose though as the head unit is already long gone.
I will repurpose them to hold other speakers.

Yes it is.
Only has one speaker on the under side though.
But on the top side it is complete and will be used for some rear fill.

More photos to come tomorrow....
