    I purchased the TrueTrac from East Coast Gear Supply. Based solely on research. Haven't installed yet. I have a Detroit Locker in my 4x4 but you can hear it when disengaging and is harry on slick roads till you get used to it.

    Whatever you do, don't ever let anyone talk you into swapping that 292 for a V8! I had a '77 with the same engine/tranny and I could run with the BBC's on the trails and even surpassed them when the going got really bad.     This probably was a once in a lifetime thing but my automatic did that only in reverse. Turned out the bellhousing bolts weren't tightened all the way. Worth a check.

    A couple years back I ordered nerf bar steps for my K5 from Rock Auto in SS for less than half the normal going rate. Don't know if that would be something you'd be interested in or if they're even still available but might try them to see if they have what you want. Just a suggestion.

    I have 18V DeWalt tools also. When the batteries died I went on Amazon and bought "off" brand batteries for half the price of DeWalts. Check the reviews carefully. THe batteries I bought work great. Just an idea to save money.

    You might want to look at Rock Auto. I purchased nerf bars for my K5 as they were heavily discounting Square body items. I got the stainless steel bars for less than half price of other sites. Not sure if they will still have them as I purchased last year but would be worth looking into, IMO.
