Odds are this isn't going to be it but my K5 rattled only in reverse. Thinking it was in the tranny I took it to shop. Rattled next time I drove it. My son got under it and discovered the tranny wasn't bolted firmly to the rear of the engine. Tightened loose bolts and no more rattle. Worth a look though. Good luck!

I think i found the culprit. Trans cooler lines (stock steel ones) were in direct contact with motor mount! I must had bent them when i removed the tranny when i tried another converter, easy fix, took me whole minute to bend them back. Thanks everyone for all sort of ideas!

It wasn't the cooler lines. Whoah. It sure is a tricky one. Something loose somewhere maybe.
