Can anyone tell me what the stock casting numbers are for a 1977 K10. The traditional lists are of no help. Will likely require someone having a factory 77 engine to check or have checked prior. Thanks.

I guess I shouldve stated that, . The engine would be a 350.

I've done this, I know what I have , and that what I have is not original. Mine are 80-up heads and I'm doing a restoration and cannot find what the 77s wore.

Quite a few original 350's were replaced by Goodwrench 350's, usually purchased from the local dealer. The Goodwrench engines were relatively cheap, and even came with a GM warranty if they were replacing an existing squarebody with an SBC 305 or 350.

Yes. It's an 80s model thin block as well. Being replaced with a 4 bolt main 010 block. Wanted matching heads to go with it.

Not for nothing there are way better stock appearing heads out there. I can appreciate the stock build as well though. I have bone stock numbers matching cars and resto-mods.. stock appearing builds with extra HP are my favorites..

Yeah, most likely would have been the 882 casting. They were very common and were supposed be "the best of the large chamber smog heads". I'd say that's fancy talk for "the best of the worst heads". I've ran a couple sets on mild engine builds and the performance was pretty good, considering the extremely low cost.

I just remembered I have a '77 K10 350 sitting on a stand. I'm betting on 882's. I'll report back.

Welp, nevermind. Despite being the original late '76 block, the heads are late '72 castings and definitely aren't 882's.

Mild, stock appearing setup is what I'm shooting for. Will be doing a lot of hidden work. Goals aren't as high as modern engines, but will be much more than OEM.

What makes you say 1972? Those were used on Goodwrench crate engines, too. Thank you for checking, btw!
