Cruise Control Transducer Source

I believe I've found a decent source for a transducer for the '79. It turns out I need the 2 wire transducer because even though I have a 3 wire now I do not have the resume valve which is a separate piece that bolts to the transducer. The guy I am getting it from rebuilds them and had a lot of good information when I talked to him. My mistake was assuming the equipment in my truck actually came in the truck originally which led my search awry.

also, do BOP engines of the same era have the same system? A 78 cutlass on my property has the same cruise stalk as yours did

Someone else may be able to use it and yes, I was told they’re the same across the GM line.

The 78 has a stalk that just says "CRUISE" and its a single action

I’m really not sure but the function did work before the whole deal went to ****. I’m not really sure how though. I won’t have the transducer until Monday now.

I though I had read somewhere that the Resume feature was added in '83, and then of course the multi-function stalk came in '84. I'm really not sure though.

The guy was tell me 81 was the first year for resume but I would guess the higher end cars would have gotten it first. These transducers are the same across the GM line for the 70’s/early 80’s.

Of all the stuff I've owned, none of it has been from the early 80's, so the cruise setups in those years are a mystery to me. I guess I never paid attention to any of them I worked on either. It will be curious to find out if your resume works with a 2-wire transducer.
