I am very interested in recreating this look on my truck (with a twist of course). Has anyone else done this? I know 3M Di-Noc is the primo stuff to use, I believe some auto manufacturers have used it for their "woody" options, but it is very pricey, around $400-500 for the amount I would need. Can anyone recommend some more affordable options? I do not want a glossy finish, prefer a matte finish for a more authentic look.

Wild. I don't think I've ever seen one of these trucks done up with wood grain. Seen plenty of the 2 tones, just haven't run across one of these yet. Was it actually a factory offering, or dealer added option?

Thanks man, I checked this site out earlier, that's the 3M stuff I was talking about, very pricey. And there's no phone number or anyway to contact a person except through the site. I'd prefer to be able to speak with someone who has some real world experience with this stuff.

I saw mention of samples, may have been another website though.

I've got a friend that does vinyl signs / lettering. She says she can get woodgrain (many colors) for
12" x 10 yrd. $183.00
24" x 10 yrd. $210.00

Not sure how many yards would be needed tho...

Do you think they can get some small sample pieces? I would be interested in the $210 package, looking for a walnut or similar colored grain

She probably could. I would suggest you hit up her website and drop her an email or call.

http://www.finishingtouch.biz her name is Jackie.

Mine came with that from the factory... Still on the fence whether or not I want to add it back when I finally take care of the rust and repaint.

It was vinyl... It's all faded from the sun, but the color kinda comes back if I rub oil into it. :)

After looking at your pic I would reapply that wood grain.
