I have a 1996 LT4 in my '86 and the previous owner didn't seem to be the most electrically inclined and the current owner (me) isn't much better. This resulted in him putting in aftermarket mechanical oil pressure and water temp gauges. Additionally, my volt gauge isn't functioning.
It's kind of a complicated mess with the OBDII ECU and the OEM gauges - hoping to get some insight to how y'all would approach hooking up the OEM gauges to the new engine set up. It would be great to be able to have stock gauges without the aftermarket ones and I'd rather not spend too much money on some fancy Dakota Digital gauges.
The engine harness is an aftermarket PSI harness, which I'm assuming I could find a wiring diagram online for, along with the OEM wiring harness and connect the wires appropriately?
