We are installing a 383 Blueprint engine into a customer's 1984 K20 4WD with a manual transmission. Just wondering which headers you guys are running. I've heard that there is a difference between the automatic and manual transmissions. Is anyone running a full length header with a manual transmission, or do I have to go with a shorty style?

Thanks

I have the same "what headers to use" question. The aluminum heads on the Blueprint heads have square exhaust ports. I was looking at Hedman for headers. I contacted them and got this answer.

Hello -

We have had mixed success with our hedders, so you need to proceed with caution. They will need to be mocked up to confirm port location and size, as well as plug clearance, and of coarse fitment of the tube routes. I am sorry, our hedders are set up for stock profiles, and these heads sometime stray from the platform.

So, since many headers have round ports, has anyone actually found a header that "mates up" to the Blueprint 350 aluminum heads?

Most of them use round ports, but the round port is bigger than any D or Square shaped port would be, so it doesn't really matter. Just get whatever header you want and match the gasket to the header.
