Hello to all! I have scoured the internet looking for dually bed sides for my 1984 C30 long bed. They don’t seem to exist. Are owners expected to get standard bed sides and then modify to accommodate the dually setup? Thanks for any suggestions.

Welcome Boyce,
These guys used to have them... give them a call, maybe they still have the mold and can make a set. Otherwise they are unobtainable and you need to search the countryside. They are out there, only millions made.

My bet is you’re expected to cut SRW bed sides. That’s how it works for 73-75 full top blazer doors, you have to buy a full window frame door and cut the upper section off.

I just noticed he was looking for bed sides... correct have to cut up a normal bed side.
I thought he was looking for the dually fenders.

Is there something that goes in between the fiberglass fender and the bedside metal? Welting? Gasket? I noticed on my dually (avatar photo) that
had a quick block sand and light spray that the recent paint had sealed the gap. But now it's separated and there is clearly a gap, which drinks water when it rains.
I believe the stepside fenders had welting....?
And for those wondering... no, stepside fenders are not the same as dually fenders. I like the couple inches of flat spot on the top of dually fenders... this was designed specifically to park your beer on when working on the truck!

I thought the step fenders had the same flat spot too, the difference being the dually fenders were curved to match the bedside, while the step fenders were flat on that edge to match the staight boxside.

I was always under the impression that when built originally, the factory simply cut out regular bedsides for use on a dually truck. Then the fenders were bolted on and the bed was painted as a unit. The GMT400 trucks seem to indicate that's surely how it was done, the squarebody trucks may have been built in a similar manner.

And no welting on the fenders, whether it be dually or stepside.

My dually had a hard bead of caulking that i chipped off. I then used seam sealer between the fiberglass fender and the bedside.

Even if i didnt need a dually, id scoop that up for sure and pop the dually fenders off and use it.
You do realize the wheel openings under the fenders are cut out and enlarged?
