Does anyone know what the part on the brake booster line (highlighted with the red arrow in the picture) is called and where I can get it? I may need to replace the vacuum booster hose and I'd like to get this as well. I can't find the hose either...

Far as the hose you can use fuel line, it's designed not to collapse.

Vac Check Valve. So if your engine dies, you have a 1 more time use of the power brakes.

So, does this part do double duty as a filter and check valve?

I do believe, filter and check valve in this case are the same. I've also heard some call it a vacuum regulator. It's main purpose is to keep the vacuum boost stable. It could even be eliminated if you so wish to. I've seen many people go without it.

So two check valves? That one and the one that slips into the booster? Does the black one have a filtration element in it so dirt and other contaminants don't get sucked into the booster?

 Is the one at the booster always a check valve? Is the filter/check valve not one in the same? I sure thought so. I know I've eliminated it before and I didn't have any vac on reserve.

I just checked. The black one is listed as a "Power Brake Filter" (Dorman 80195) and the one that goes in the booster is listed as "Power Brake Check Valve" (Dorman 80190).

Sure glad we got that ironed out. Guess I learned something new today. And I still don't give a rats ass that I don't have one. :laughing1:
