I actually got to look at it really good today, he brought it by the shop to find a coolant leak (it was low). Turned out to be the radiator... the big heavy expensive big block radiator. Oh well, the carb/choke hasn't been giving him any troubles, so it can probably stay on there.
I did agree to buy it though. It has several minor things that need fixed, but I already have the parts for most of it. Things like lock switches, tailgate key switch, hood ornament, etc. The dash pad has some cracks and the front seat has a few rips, but overall the interior is still clean. It has 3.73 gears, a locking diff, and the trailering special package. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the roof rack or rear deflector. It does have the rear defogger though.
The body can be described as STRAIGHT and SOLID!!. Behind each rear wheel, at the very lower corner there is a very small rust hole. The inside lower tailgate seam has the very beginnings of rust. The entire underbody and rear wheel wells look brand new. Not a speck of rust anywhere... that's amazing considering how often things rust on a Burb.
Plus, I love the colors. I remembered it being gray with black two-tone, but it is actually the other way around. The paint is decent enough that I can just repaint the gray two tone and repaint the hood. It will look pretty good after that.
I should have it by early next week.
