What new tools have you got lately?

My last HF Blue 1/4" x 10mm Deep socket, fell to the bottom of the scrap yard dump truck, while selecting a 96' Crossfire 5.7L Roller Block core.
Butter Fingers... I could see that sucker all the way down under three 1 ton rear ends, 2 engine blocks and a washing machine... and could not reach it.

What about a telescoping magnet tool?

The 45oz USA DB Hammer was a good buy. The battery was not included... just the tool...

89Suburban, that Rotary Drill / Chipping Hammer Rig is cool. Ain't held one of those in a few decades.

It was a good deal for the money. Totally paid for itself and I got plenty more to do with it.

The welding shed has a cracked floor and the epoxy has been sitting in the big barn to patch it since last fall.
Somebody broke the Husq K760 casting at the frame, so there's no saw for me to cut the cracks (or steel pipe it's supposed to be used for).

I have an old Husq K-700 in the barn from about 15 years ago. Still runs like a raped ape. That's if you get the half arsed recoil pull starter to cat like it should. I used to rebuild so many of those things. And Oztec vibrators. I could go on but running out of steam

Perhaps the company grinder will survive and avoid the trip to tool heaven... with a diamond blade? We've got 180' of cracks to fix, at least.

They make something called a V-Crack chaser.

Not looking forward to doing it because the shop floor is heated and I'm not covered for causing a flood or replacing the plumbing, if it cracks.
Hoping they find a guy with insurance, who's carrying all the fittings for the emergency slab plumbing splice(s).

Feel as though I could go an entire lifetime, without having to say the words: "I may have just cut the plumbing system for the $65,000.00 heated concrete slab"...

No Veedubs here, but got plenty of old willys jeeps. I know a bunch of chevy guys that also like jeeps.

I’m a born and raised Chevy guy. I worked the lube rack at 18 for a Chevy dealer. Then moved into the parts department at 3 different dealers over a 10 year period. The VW thing simultaneously developed, because in high school my buddies first car was a 68 convertible bug. And I was into it more than he was. Lol. Now I’m 57 and the rest is history.

There is a reason you, and I, don't fool with VW's. We can't get in them!
Guess my other "passion" is old engine drive Lincoln welders, SA 200's. Just love hearing the old flathead Continental run. Have a 48, 63, 68 and a 78.... looks like I NEED a 58!!

Other weird interest as of late is old CB radios. I’m not hoarding them or anything. But I get them when the gett’ins good. I guess it’s one of those things from your childhood that resurfaces. Their all stacked in the garage and I don’t even have any antennas, yet.

Made a new dolly for working on the cab. The first one I made didn’t work so good, this one is 100% better. It bolts to the front and rear cab mounts and rolls great. The first one used air filled tires, which I thought would be better, but they were always losing air and didn’t roll as good as these.

I need to finish welding the front mounts when I take the cab off, they are good for now, but I couldn’t really get at them with the cab sitting on them. I welded up the rear mounts before putting the cab on, but couldn’t get the fronts until the cab was on so I could be sure of the placement.

Eh, a cheap DA will always tend to behave like a cheap DA. They work and you can do a decent job with them of course, but there's no comparison to a nicer unit.
