what lift height do I have?

I have a 6 inch lift with 36 inch tires. My front bumper is 31 inches off the ground. This is right at street legal height here in WVA. My front spring has 6 leaves as well.

What is ur back bumper height?

You have to measure from the top of the round axle tube not the top of the springs !!!

Please re measure from the top of the round axle tube to the bottom of the frame.

Your measurement is inaccurate as 14" would give you a 3" lift which it clearly is not.

I did measure from the top of the axle tube to the bottom of the frame. I have a stock chevy for parts up in the woods and that has a 7 inch gap. So being that mine is 14" that means mine should be 7" lift then correct?

Nope stock height for a 3/4 ton is 11" from top of tube to bottom of frame

I have a 1/2 ton with a 6" lift and it is 15 1/2" from top of tube to bottom of frame.

Putting this all together... 17.5" measured minus the 11" stock says 6 inches of suspension lift. The 6" body lift makes it about 12"of total lift. Looks about right.

But regardless with or without the body lift the bumper is still 6 inches over the legal limit and there is no way a 6 inch lift makes ur bumper that high ..... that's just my opinion.... I had a 2000 1500 Silverado with a 6 inch but my bumper wasn't that high. Not even close.... I'm so confused with this

I just measured my stock height '79, and to the bottom of the bumpers is about 20 1/2", both front and rear. That is with 265/75-16 tires that measure an actual 30 1/2" tall.

My fender measurements are both about 36 1/2". Going with this, add 5 1/2" for your tires over mine, and you have 42". Add in a 6" suspension lift and you get 48", which is 1 1/2" over your measurements. That 1 1/2" can be easily explained by actual tire height and/or any sag in the springs. So the P.O.'s statement of a 6" suspension lift seems accurate to me. Your fender measurements will probably be more accurate than bumper measurements.

My bumpers were measured to the bottom and my fender height is 52" front and back

Top of the rear axle tube to the bottom of the frame is 16 inches for me. I measured from the tube to in between the rear u shaped rubber snub mount. That is with a 4 inch block and 2 inch add a leaf on my rear end. I hope this helps.

I say lose the body lift for sure.

BTW- I have a half ton GMC with a 12 bolt rear end. My lift kit was bought in 1986 and is a Rugged Trail lift kit. That company is no longer in business either. Good Lift kit though. You can look in the under construction section for pictures of the truck.

Means you have either a 6 1/2" lift if it is using 3/4 ton springs with 2" add a leafs and 4" blocks or 6" blocks with an extra leaf or two thrown into the pack

Or

It is a 7.5" lift with 1/2 ton springs with 5 1/2" blocks and 2" add a leafs



You should measure the blocks to se what they are ?

Maybe you said it was all springs with no blocks I dunno lol

But basically it is 6 1/2" over a stock 3/4 ton or 7 1/2" over a stock 1/2 ton

So with a 3" body lift you have about 9-10" of total lift
