Interesting. Can't wait to get my daughter's project truck going. Never had it on the highway.Probably one of those C20 Suburban's that came with 396/th400/3.54 Dana 60, and it got lowered.
When Mean Green was on the road I swapped in one of those 3.54 Dana 60s, and that truck was only happy at 80mph.
Yes that's an Action Line ('67-72) Burb. Three doors, rear passenger door only on the passenger side. Not near as common as square body Burbs, they were just starting to become recreational/SUVs instead of just commercial trucks. They might have even still called them "carryall suburbans" in the brochures....Saw yesterday, hummed by me, I was doing 75. Front head lights say 70's. Suburban?
Really? Three doors? Weird. Now I wish I could see it up close for sure. Looked like a cool ride!Yes that's an Action Line ('67-72) Burb. Three doors, rear passenger door only on the passenger side. The real holy Grail on these is the panel truck, very rare. I've seen more in ads, than in real life.
There's one just like it sitting in a wrecking yard here. '68 Suburban, same color, and although a lot of parts are stripped it's pretty solid. And it's a three door, so fairly rare. I'm trying to decide if I have one more rebuild in me...Saw yesterday, hummed by me, I was doing 75. Front head lights say 70's. Suburban?
Also, depends on rust, body work, how much stripped I guess. Seems like a unique vehicle though. There's one just like it sitting in a wrecking yard here. Yes those have a number of rust points. Uncle used to have a '69 pickup that needed cowls and cab corners, but still looked good everywhere else. Another thing about the panels; they were available in two different wheelbases. That was a thing on most of the previous generations of trucks, and not just GM trucks either. Also, depends on rust, body work, how much stripped I guess. Seems like a unique vehicle though.
Sweet. Also let me know next swap meet down there. I might travel down. Haven't heard of anything up dfw. This is a '67-72 Burb I saw in Conroe at the swap meet in February. IIRC, red/white, blue/white, and orange/white were popular color combos on this era truck.
Next swap meet in Conroe is the last weekend this month. October 27-29. Montgomery County Fairgrounds, north of town.Sweet. Also let me know next swap meet down there. I might travel down. Haven't heard of anything up dfw.
