. The guy did it for $500, new foam included. I'm very happy with it.

^Looks awesome! I really dig your truck btw.

Speaking of AZ guys who use their old squares like trucks still, anyone heard from that @mtnmankev feller? Hope the aliens or a rattlesnake didn't get him...he's a good dude!

Got the first long start out of the Jimmy today, had it running for 5 minutes before we got smoked out, especially with no exhaust on it and it comes straight up at us at the motor. After REALLY looking at the engine compartment wiring, things don't look too bad. Some poor wires here and there, nothing major. I have a ton of spare plugs and melted plugs. In comparison to my dad's '87 Custom Deluxe (also TBI obviously with 350) with everything the same, except his doesn't have AC, everything seems kosher, which i know my dad has his set up THE way (he's previously restored it) so i've been walking a few steps to compare. His also doesn't use alot of the plugs, some are like cruise not being used, etc. I am missing the entire emissions setup on the passenger side of the block, solving a few stray plugs/hoses. This brings me to my next topic:

I know a guy in town the wants to sell his '88 GMC Suburban. TBI, 350, AC. Everything is there, it's been sitting for a while, doesn't run, fuel tank is rusted out along with the whole rear frame. This is something i need to get. I could park it right next to my Jimmy and literally swap parts over like that, keeping things dang near original setup. He's got the grille i need in good condition. Has a bench seat that SHOULD work for me, although the Burb is red and white, so it would need reupholstered. But i'm going to talk to him Saturday and see if i can get it off him. Nothing better during a restoration than to have a dang near complete duplicate RIGHT THERE.

So if that works out, i'll swap all missing components over, purty her up a bit with loom because apparently the PO didn't know it existed, and she'll be a runner. On the outside at least, interior is still a different story haha

PS when i'm done with the Burb i'll part it out to you fellers

Kinda sounds crazy but I loaded my clutch spring with body shims. Kept adding them between the coils until it stretched the spring enough. Then pull em out one by one. Looked like a porcupine!

Thanks for the mention and thinking of me, I'm still alive and kicking but who knows for how long.
And still using my squares as work trucks, in fact, I am hauling a huge load of trash to the dump today (first of two loads) in an effort to clean up my property so the executor of my will doesn't have to deal with it.
I haven't been posting much lately on any of the forums I hang out on, and the space aliens have been fairly well behaved lately.

Tackling the steering column is on my "Don't wanna go there" list.
Good luck on it !

This wasn't on my square but rather the Expedition my wife's father gave her for her B-Day. In the process of giving it a good going over after replacing the alternator, I am also putting new hoses, belt, oil & filter change and so on and found this when I pulled the air cleaner!!! I think it was a bit overdue for a changing!!!!

Well found another dent ! One more to fix damn it’s hot as hell .!
I just want to paint already .

Just one? LOL
I found them all on the hood and filled them and still found 3 spots that didn't block out just right! It wasn't the dings but the little high and low spots on an otherwise "straight" hood.
Buddy gives me **** because the truck is full of yellow paint pen marks. But my truck will have less missed dings than his once it's painted!

Haven't done a damn thing to mine since April. No time.
