@Scott91370 sold me his unneeded factory air filter housing, which I have installed on the truck. Previously it had a chrome air filter housing on it which the former owner had installed on it. I did like the look of the chrome, but I wanted to go back to factory. The truck looks very much factory so I'd just prefer to keep it that way. Plus the cold air intake that the factory housing has I see as a plus.

I gave the housing a quick cleaning and spray of glass black paint and it looks pretty good. Later when I have more time I put it in the sand blaster at work and get rid of that crap along the edge you can see in this picture, but for now it's just fine. It is sitting on top of an edelbrock carb, I'd kind of like to go back to a Q-jet, but the Edelbrock is working ok, so for now just leaving that as is.

Spent most of the afternoon just enjoying the day in 'the Cave" with "the Bear" on the radio listening to the top 500 rock countdown and finishing up cleaning the parts for my spare Holley carb rebuild. Having them soaking in Chem-Dip for over a month has removed most of the factory zinc cadmium finish and a little brushing has removed the rest. Then a good soak and spray down with brake parts cleaner thru all passages and then blown out with compressed air and now ready for reassembly. Will be upgrading the accelerator pump from 30cc to 50cc to give it a bit more juice when I punch it and to eliminate any hesitation it may have had previously! 1st pic was upon it's arrival a few months ago and 2nd of it's current state! :favorites13:

Along with a new rebuild kit will be installing all new brass floats, jets,etc!

Had a long day of about 100 miles, took it like a champ obviously but will be needing some power steering work (the pump leaks quite a bit, needs seals?)

ordered window motors for the donor doors. One was intermittent so I thought it best just to replace both. $35 each....can handle that....just want the damn things done and installed lol. Tired of ******' with em.

Got other **** to do.

I did the same.Ajusted the air/fuel ratio and the idle,and it runs just fine.Looks good man.
