Lots of Square projects on deck...unfortunately all electric:(.
1. figure out why neither courtesy light housing has DC to it, but the single bulb near the 4WD shift does
2. troubleshoot aftermarket radio, suddenly went out (no juice) while driving
3. investigate passenger door power window switch no workie

They didn't make it easy to get under that dash with A/C..

Finally got my axles back from the powder coater. As always he did a great job. That and alot of smaller stuff. Guy who is rebuilding them cant get to them for 7-10 days as he has about 50 (yes, fifty) motors to build. Last time I was there I counted 38 stands with motors on them....there were plenty more on the floor. Someone has 3 chevy BB's to pick up and he has no room til they do. No hurry for them anyways. Gotta get the drums turned and new u-joints in the drive shafts too. Then the fuel line debacle......guess I'm bending my own.

Figured out my transmission problem. The plug was backwards [emoji2357][emoji2357] Sooo many people told me “yOu CaNt pLuG a 4L60 iN BaCkWarDs”.

Well. Ya ******* can. Drove it at lunch, we have all 4 gears and lockup. Tuner is coming back tomorrow

It happens Zach, figured it was electrical when you post those dtc's. Glad it was a simple fix

Tuner came back today. Trans acted like it should, he was able to mostly tune it, got it out on the road, about a mile on the Hwy. Came back and said it had a dead miss. Got out the temp gun, sure enough, #2 is dead. That hole was dead 3 weeks ago too, we replaced the injector then after he checked it with a noid light.

Pull it in, let it cool off. Swap #2 and #4 injectors. Doesn’t follow, #4 is still firing perfect. Swap coil packs, doesn’t change. Check the plug, it’s black like it’s had spark, but dry. No fuel.

So I’m gonna redo the noid light test tomorrow. If that checks out, it’s not the harness. At that point I’ll pop off the valve cover to check for bent pushrod/who knows what. If that’s not, compression test I guess. I’m about over this swap.

Zach, those engines rarely have injector failure. You can do the noid test again to verify, but I bet it's mechanical. Pull the valve cover and examine the valve springs on #2 VERY closely as it is not uncommon for them to break. A running compression test may also work. Been working on these late model trucks the last 18 years and spring failure isn't uncommon on high mileage engine. Worst case is a wiped cam lobe. Good luck

Dang, how much $$ to powder coat brake drums

For just drums - my guess is $50 for the two. He said there is a shortage of powder (planned-demic) and its gone from $5/lb to $12. Just like the plywood and 2x4 BS. Going to have him just media blast the cab, bed, fenders, doors and tailgate too. I usually go up when he's blasting them and soak them with zinc-phosphate as soon as they're done. They'll stay a freshly blasted look for years...or until I get a coat of epoxy-primer on it (e-coat is the best). You can then paint over it or sand / wash it off.

Shitttt. Didn’t even think about the cam. It’s got new LS6 springs from Michigan Motorsports in it. It did have a bent pushrod when I took it all apart but found nothing else weird and couldn’t pinpoint what caused it. Also don’t remember which cylinder it was

Oh and so I finally got back to the cab! still stripping. which begs a question to @Grit dog I'm ready to lay down some DTM primer from Tamco, but because of time I have layed a layer of rattle can rustolem everywhere I stripped it down to the metal. Any words of wisdom!

Got the bed pulled off... cleaning out some things in the shop and then I’ll pull the bumper, hood, fenders and core support before it gets pushed into the shop. Got everything I need to put the 4” lift on, install the blazer 30 gal tank, new-to-me bed floor, and a bunch of other stuff while I wait for the motor to come back from the machine shop. Guess I should start a build thread at this point..

Yeah, you need to start a build thread for it. I didn't realize your truck had such a great paint and interior color combo.
