Replaced my oil pressure sending unit as it decided to blow out during a drive to the coast and leak alot of oil EVERYWHERE. First one I've had that actually blew out instead of just the threads leaking.

It was stamped Taiwan. I have had this one in two different trucks and the same engine and its probably 8-10+ years old so that might have something to do with it. Was definitely a new problem for me.

Took ol brown over to a buddies house cause he failed to park on flat terrain, use wheel chocks, or fully depress the parking brake on his prius. o_O

Of course the car rolled back pinning the jack he was using on the ground sideways and the rotor dug into the asphalt.

Had to use the truck's jack as a wheel chock and another I brought to pick up the big battery.

Brown just out there getting it done in the wilds helping another brownish goldish ugly color prius get back on all fours. :burnout:

My son is up from Denver helping me, so we made prety good progress on the burb yesterday. Got the front clip and doors off, as well as most of the interior and a lot of small parts.

Came across this on the drivers side fender, not sure what it is, part of a trailer harness, or the rear a/c ?

Looks like some kind of HD power solenoid for the trailer harness.

Perhaps a trailer mounted winch? Seen guys mount those Ford type solenoids in the engine bay for valve adjustment etc, but without seeing where the wiring terminates pure speculation

Looks like it may have been for a plow?. Pink wires running to the front look like heavy duty power wire.

I'm guessing trailer, wires head to the back, definatly not a plow, truck never had one. I was just curious since it looked factory, and I have never seen a harness like that before.

I've had a couple of people ask if it has an electronic speedo, but it has a cable. After pulling the gauges I see this green thing on the back of the speedo, never seen one of those before either.

Green thing has factory number stamped on it. Google it. My 85 has one. It is a speed sensor.

That's the VSS used in the 80's trucks with computer control.

It's taking a bit longer than planned, but the new LS is finally in it's final place. Converting to a hydraulic clutch and putting a SM465 behind a LS has proven to be a headache, but I think I'll be happy when it's all done. Now for a bunch of wiring fun.

Junior was trying to flex his cool truck and how it will drive through our ditch in the front yard last night when his buddies were over.

He did not use enough angle to make sure the low hanging trailer hitch would not grab the ground.
You can see the hitch in this photo.
It is all welded to the frame and hangs super low.

He got it stuck.
Imagine the truck with the grill pointed at the camera, that is the angle that it was pointing.
It sat there over night as the tire would just spin with nothing to grab.

Fast forward to this morning.
I got in the truck and started giving it hell as it was my grass that I was ******* up.
It took a bit of rocking it back and forth and a piece of wood under the tire that had no traction.
After some tire smoke from spinning on the wood I got it to start moving around and finally pulled the thing out of the ditch.

I told him to quit driving into the ditch like that.

Good lesson for Jr. Now he should repair the lawn as a way to think about his exit prior to hammer down!

I got the adjustable ones from LSX Inovations. They're just like the other 30 companies that make an aluminum relocation mount. I just got the cheapest one of that style I could find. They kind of suck and I had to modify stuff to make it fit, but it put the transmission in the stock location. I talked to their tech support and they were pretty clueless but did offer me a refund if I wanted it. I'll probably swap them out for something better down the line.
