So I didn't buy another truck, but am essentially being given everything except for the frame and drivetrain from this 77 k20. It's rough but its a one owner 55k mi truck, 350/465/205/14ff/44 truck. Runs drives and stops. The frame and parts are going to be used on a 53 willys truck. Lots of savable parts on it however.

Well what I've done lately is made this plate to mount the radio In my 1990 3+3. Wanted to run the stock radio but had to many intermittent issues so said screw it its coming out. Started with an old aluminum sign and cut it to fit where the stock radio was. Then added the new Jenson radio I bought from Amazon for $30. Great deal for what it is. No CD player but honest I dont use them anymore. It's either FM radio or streaming pandora from my radio so this new one is perfect because I can stream from my phone as was as make and receive calls from it.

Took the plunge and ordered that hobnail cloth cover that is supposed to be the same as the original.

In 3 - 4 months I'll let you know...

Damn virus.

What year/model is that cloth used on?

I put air in the spare this afternoon. Things would have gone badly if I'd gotten a flat.

I also sent the original spare with the split open tire to have the rim blasted and powder coated so I can put a good tire on it and hang it up under the bed with my new-to-me spare tire carrier. 35 years of wasting cargo space to store a spare tire is almost at an end.

Remember to check the pressure on your spares!

One other option I just now discovered- supposed to be ( from a 10 year old posting ) OE stuff sold in yards.

https://smsautofabrics.com/collections/1979-pontiac/products/1979-pontiac-cloth-79-874

Be interesting to see what 4 yards or so would go for.

Got a pic of your cloth? I thought it was the same (except K5's) from '78-'80. Mine looks like that brochure picture, but it's not what was used in the Trans Am.

My 80 uses that type cloth, but my 78 is different.

(Ignore the blanket on the bottom part of the seat)

Edit: I guess it does look similar, but the 80 seems to have more of a "dot" pattern.

So that's your '78? Mine is a '78. I recently looked at a '79 Suburban for sale with original cloth, it was the same stuff as mine, but in the darker '79 shade of red. I'm really curious if the '80 is more like dots.

The TA stuff has a dot pattern that kinda makes up stripes. Mine is just plain fuzzy stripes.
