I pulled that ugly trim off mine last year. Luckily it didn't have rust like that under there. I believe it was faded out...and maybe broken? I'm not sure. Does LMC not have it? I'll try to remember to find mine if I didn't tear it up and throw it away?

it isn't rust, but very small potions of the blue paint came off with the trim, revealing the a little bit of the previous color. I can almost live with that if i can get the glue off, worst case i don't find a new trim piece. LMC does not have it. I've checked, too many times to count

Finally getting something done. Ordered 3 coils of SS fuel line (1/4, 5/16, 3/8) - as soon as that arrives I'll finish it. Got the new stainless brake lines into the frame and the crossover lines bent and in (my buddy had about 4ft of each size left). New tanks painted / Rhino-linered bottom halves and hung. As soon as I have the vent line run to the front, can put in the motor mounts. Its getting there....

Nothing like truck parts for my birthday, brother got me door panels and my other family members combined for the emblems. Not bad at all. . .

Changed the transfer case fluid, changed the oil + filter in the Jimmy, wanted to fill up the front diff but one of the bolt holes is stripped out. I'll have to tap that it appears. But i got the front wheels on (back put on last week) and bled the brakes for the first time through all of my new system, which i flushed. She can now roll down to my dad's shop to begin the wiring phase and finally get this thing manageable and see if the 350 will do.

I put new signal/parking light housings on it, and added some factory style wheel arch moldings from LMC. I think they give it a more "finished" look....

Yes, trim always finishes the truck. Looks great! Original ‘85 grille and lights would take it to the next level.

Got the rotating assembly done on my c10's th400... just waiting on boost valve to put the pump on.

Once its all done, that should be a hard hitting mother ******. My best work thus far

How far to press it on? All the way, my friend, all the way. If not, the truck will press it the rest of the way and you'll destroy the bearings.

No shims in that collection of parts? Have you measured pinion depth?

That's good to hear. I thought maybe I forgot a shim. I can go a little more till it touches the back of the pinion gear. No haven't measured pinion depth. Sometimes I get ahead of myself. Lol

It was raining here so no more done to it today.

I measured 6.1 from the end of the shaft to the bearing on both but, new one wasn't all the way down. That's why I thought I may have forgotten a shim.

I think it's the bottom left shim I forgot to put on first.

So I think I need to get the bearing off and put shim on first then seat bearing again against the shim. That's what I mean by getting ahead of myself. I'd rather have to buy a new bearing than put it in and destroy more than that. I have a good feeling that's what I'll have to do.

Quick performance gave me a number to call. I'll ask them tomorrow to make sure. Shouldn't have put the bearing on until I was sure about it.
