I replaced my dilapidated dome light lens with a clear one today. Also a new bulb....damn big difference in light output.

Nah, nah, nah. Ya gotta put it past the red to compensate for having overdrive. 5.38's!

Sometime whenever i get some freed up cash flow, im gonna regear my dana 60 and 14 bolt in my s10 to 5.38 or 5.13 for the 39.5's
Im running 4.10 now, which the motor has good enough low end tq for, but its not where i want it to be.
I'd like to be in the 5.xx range for those tires, but im on the fence, that low range in that full size np241 i swapped is pretty retarded in first gear. Its a crawl gear. I have to put it in 2nd to move at all, and top speed is like 20mph in 2nd. With 5.38 top speed in second, low 4x4 will be like, 10 mph.

As it is, i have to drop it out of low 4x4 and then into hi 4x4 to travel the gravel roads to the trail head at uwharrie.

Well, loaded the pickup to head off Christmas eve, new carby fitted, didn't get far when the alternator **** itself. Turned around and transferred everything into the '67 Buick. New alternator on the way, along with a 3 prong oil pressure switch, so l can hook up the electric choke.

The oil pressure gauge was leaking at the oil gally on the front of the block. So a little tighter and it stopped. You were right @bucket

I pulled the wire loom and oil poured out. So tightened it a little more and changed oil and filter done.

Noticed something else wrong too. The output hose from fuel pump was rubbing on balancer(hence the shinny spots on hose and balancer)I'll reroute the hose.

Just breaking in those new bearings with about 225 gallons (1700 lbs) of water.

It's a nifty way to slam you're half ton truck.

And sometimes it can get even lower depending of road conditions.

And if you're really lucky, you may even keep a crappy scissor jack thats not up to the task behind your seat, and have to destroy you're repairable tire by driving home on it.

I called around for a while and couldn't find a tire for a reasonable price. Walmart (where my buddy works) was cheapest with a General Grabber 265 75 r15 for $130 installed. Then I stopped by my local Upull and found these.

General Grabbers are decent tires. With my discount these are $75 each delivered.

Yea, the iconic thing is that my buddy who works at walmart swears that he was the one who mounted those tires not 3 months ago on the wrecked Ford F150 they cam off of.

Stopped by Napa after work and picked up some 3/8 fuel line and 1/2" radiator hose along with new clamps.

Replaced the fuel line to the carb after found it was rubbing on balancer. I have a new filter before the pump. So I cut out the one between the carb and pump and ran it in amuch better way.

I cut some of the 1/2"hose and wrapped around the fuel line where it was touching the radiator hose and alt.

Dad taught me that little trick so you don't wear a hole in it. New pcv hose too. The old one was collapsing at higher rpms.

The old fuel line wear spot. Would've been leaking soon.
