Todays progress:

New belt and idler pulley to replace smog pump. I had the option of using a smaller belt and bypassing the smog pump, but already had the belt and prefer the look of having the pulley.

With the new 140A alt installed as well:

The CS144 is huge compared to the old CS130. Its a tight fit, but its on and there is still some room. My fuel lines need to be routed underneath the alt:

I peeled an onion today. Needed access to the ECM which is on the firewall, behind the glove box. Gonne need to pull it for a new eprom:

So then I see these wires. 4 bound together, 2 go up to the dash speaker, the other 2 down under the carpet towards the back. My guess is they were for rear speakers? I tried chasing it the other way but couldnt see any farther. Definately not the rear window, so what else back there would need wires ran to it?

So as Im screwing around with wires I get the urge to rip out all the wiring for the alarm and "added" power locks, neither of which have worked for awhile. Electrical work is far from my expertise or an area where Im really comfortable working, but something tells me this crap was definately ethnically engineered:

My check engine light hasnt worked since day one. I think I found out why. Its been rigged to its own light and tucked up under the dash:

Once I traced the light back to the OBD it the only explanation I could come up with.
