Bumper is much nicer with the slag cut off, and an angle put on it, and ground down smooth

That thing has to ride like cr@p with that short wheelbase, no?

Oh well, at least you don't have to worry about the cab corners rotting out.

Oh i rides hard.
I mean no shakes or rattles, its well built, but rides like crap. You feel every little bump like its monster pot hole. Short wheel base, and 5/4 ton springs, yeah, ouch.

Not so much to the square, as for the square. Picked up a vintage Gott Tote 6 road sody and cup holder combo. Holds a sixer or four and two sandos if you prefer. Pull the cooler and you have a massive tray. Almost went with the Igloo Little Koolrest, but this seemed more stable and utilitarian. Bonus it matches my paint scheme lol
I remember growin up, for most of his working life my dad had that exact same lunch box but in blue.

Did a bit of work on Bob today. Looks a bit better.
Got 6 new wheels and tires. Put some none dualls in the front to make the offset look beefier. Washed and scrubbed the faded OD green, got the chocky out of it, looks semi gloss now. Properly bolted on the front clip again, got all the door and fender gaps lined up. Popped the dents out of the doors. Reinstalled the grill and bumpers and lights. Cleaned up the engine bay, Cleaned up the rear bumper, installed a pintle, and cleaned up the edges of the bumper so its less of a skin killer. Also temporarily installed my Beer Keg gas tank just for fun.

Wow! Nice transformation.
Once you get it running, you have to see if it will do a stoppie!

Yeah, just remove the other end at the t-case. Go back up top and push the cable into the sheath farther than it needs to go. Then go back under, line up the cable and screw it back on. It will be good at the cluster end then.
Thanks Bucket,

I took it loose at the transfer case and still had a little trouble getting the cable through. Cable housing looks OK, no kinks or anything obvious. Put it all back together and the speedometer is still bouncing a little, I'll see how it does after driving a little, if it doesn't settle down maybe I'll replace the cable housing.

playing with the AStro 1142 rivnut installer on old rusted fenders. I figured out real quick you can over tighten it. Broke the 10-24 mandrel :(

As for assisting water sealing rivnuts, should I put silicon or an o-ring before installing? This is on the top of the cab for the visor.

Went bought my old alt back from O'Reilly and put it back on. Had them bench test the new one and it passed. Then they ordered another one for tomorrow I could swap to see if that was it.

Old one on did same thing. So wired in new sidemarker light socket like the po had on before. Well that worked and the key shuts it off now. Go figure huh.
