I've got a JVC headunit that was only like $140 or something but it's class D internal amplifier and it will kick ass by it's self!
I've got that running some vintage alpine 6x9's in back and 5" up front.
I also added a sony amp and a pioneer subwoofer in a computer calculated box
you'd be surprised what the proper box can do. you can easily rattle the windows with 100 watts on a single 12". or you can just throw tons of power at an unmatched system like most people do.
the JVC headunit is great and has CD input flashdrive and radio. lots of ins and outs on the back. you can change the color of the screen and buttons separately to like 1000's of options. it's got a 7 band EQ. the thing is one of the best I've ever seen/heard lol
pyle has some good amps but their headunits are sometimes basic
my friend had a boss headunit and it was very basic too
