What are some options for mud flaps?

I would really like to install mud flaps on my K10, front and rear. What would offer the best protection for the body? Cost or ease of installation less concern than effectiveness.

A friend of mine found a flap from an 18-wheeler on the side of the road and used a jigsaw for his rear ones. No too shabby. I don't know of any aftermarket.

really its all up to what you can dream of. There are kits but usually they're not that big. Me personally would google them and look at the images to get ideas and make my own. Be sure to make supports for them.

Mine came with a set of trucker flaps bolted to the old bumper.
My truck, I think, did a lot of camper / trailer stuff in its prior life.

They have since been removed as well as the cheesy bumper.

I always thought that big ol flaps off the bumper were the coolest thing as a kid..

What are they doing? Are you hauling a trailer 24/7? No lol. You're just protecting other peoples cars, which is fine. But I like my mudflaps to protect my own vehicle lol.

Im making some brackets and mounting up some horse stall mat. Its like 3/4 inch thick and comes in a big sheet so I'll just cut to size. Will probably last a lot longer than many mudflaps.

Thats the other half of the problem, mudflaps never fit good so they look dumb as hell lol.

Bumper mounted flaps with nothing immediately behind the tires always makes me cringe. Bye bye lower body paint. Might be ok in a state where the “back roads” are paved, but out here in the real world thats not going to work lol

When I lived in North Dakota near the western border, Montana apparently had a requirement for large mud flaps on all pickups.

Every truck had them, so there must have been some common commercial supplier. They were usually mounted up behind the rear tires, and I assume there was a horizontal metal bracket bolted on as a support. However, I’m not sure Montana still has that requirement for light trucks.
