Not sure but, pretty sure I read that they didnt make a k20 shorty
Yeah I think I read that too. Back then people used a 3/4 ton truck as it was intended not to run the kids to soccer practice.

They made 6.2 k5s, I don't see why they wouldn't put one in a shorty.
I wasn’t sure, so Op if you look at the black one look at the RPO codes. You might have a get out of emissions free card right there.

The vin would tell what engine it came with too. As often as the rpo sticker disappears from these truck, probably quicker and easier too.

I know the shorty thing I’d rather have a long bed not a purse carrier lol
100% i like being able to put more than a spare tire with a jack then wonder why do i have no room, Lb is the way to go if you are doing any sort of work with the truck i have 2003 with a regular bed not short nor long but i wish it was a long bed so many times have i had to put down the tailgate when getting steel or lumber when all i need is 6-7 inches more

I need the long bed as this will double for both project and farm truck. I listed the black 83' to show the current alternative for sale to the brown 86'. Honkey Kong Jr. made me squirrel when he pointed out the Hydraboost

Hydraboost is good. As long as the frame vin and cab vin match it’s all good.

I'd vote for the short bed. As others said, the rockers ect are cheap. And not that hard to swap out. And its cheaper. And potentialy higher resale later too.

Umm Blazer frame? Is that a super short bed then?

Actually drove to see this since I had to go to Charleston anyway today. Thing was a monster, never drove a truck with a torque converter before. Yes, super short bed and useless for my needs.

If you want a long term keeper I’d look out west and get a rust free one

Believe it or not the rust free k trucks in California are cheaper than eastern rustbuckets
Especially if they can’t pass the California smog test
They have to be sold to an out of state buyer and that really lowers the price
