It’s under the dash and has a pink/black wire and a purple wire

I also have figured out that the pink/black wire has power when the ignition is on

It's on the cruise control switch, but it's used for TCC shutdown when on the brakes, isn't it? Or maybe I'm just confusing myself, since that's what I'm using it for on my LS swap.

Yeah, that's right. And it's only necessary with 700r4 (MD8) applications:

Not sure about tire burning with that taller first gear but they are reliable. Does anyone know if when they made the 4l80E they kept the same first gear ratio or did they match it to the 4l60E?

A TH400 and a4L80 have the same ratios up until OD
