West Coast Mirrors on square?

Anyone ever put west coast style trucking mirrors on their square body? I've only found 2-3 photos searching through google of it. Was curious what style mounting brackets to use and how to reinforce the door panel to handle it.

They were an option from the factory. There are two types I think. A small type with a small tripod type mount and a larger style.

Mine truck came with the smaller DF2 Exterior Camper mirrors from the factory but had not mirrors at all when I bought it. It now has the dumbo's (D44/45).

There was also a DG5 Senior west coast style only available on C-K 3 series.

The above info is correct for '86. Might be different for other years.

I'm aware of the tripods. I hate those Haha and the standard Dumbo. I'm looking to add west coasts but I don't want them hanging out 3' from the door.

Those DG5 brackets are a little big still for my taste. I'm thinking of a setup more like I have at work on fire apparatus...

Mount to bracket to mirror. Just gotta measure the door.

My old '79 K5 had the west coast mirrors. They used to be screwed on to all kinds of trucks, you could get them from JC Whitney.

You don't need to reinforce the door, and they literally just screw to the door with self-tapping bolts from what I remember.

That seems sketchy and prone to cracking. I wanna use true 16" west coast mirrors tho. There is a commercial salvage yard here I can pull parts from. Was thinking heated and power tilt mirrors haha

My FedEx truck had the same mirrors as the fire engine above. They have one hell of a big blind spot behind them and it takes time to get to the point where you automatically lean forward and back in the seat to look around them. I had some close calls at intersections before the back-and-forth head bob became instinct.
