My son and I are in love with Squarebody trucks and have been for a long time. Up here in Canada (Saskatchewan) they are getting more and more rare as time goes on. The more rare they get the more expensive they get but good deals are still to be found. In fact we found one just the other day and trailered it home. Tucked behind a row of trees in a small town not visible from the main highway was a big blue beast. As we got closer we noticed it was a squarebody crew cab. Not only a crew cab but a crew cab 4x4!! Knocked on the door and talked to the gentleman who owned it. Story is that it was last on the road in 2010 and had been sitting ever since. Had been partially restored but for the most part was complete. A half hour of negotiations and a VIN check later we handed him a deposit telling him we just needed to bring a trailer to haul it home.
The next day we hooked up the trailer and headed to pick up our new purchase. He says "oh I poured some gas down the carb and it fired right up" so we just drove it on the trailer. Good thing because we had no idea if our winch would haul this big beast up the trailer ramps! Handed the man $1500, drove the truck onto the trailer and drove it home. Well not sure what we got ourselves into but its gonna be fun.....and expensive lol. Im sure I'll be asking a ton of questions on here!
Here is what I know about it.
1986 Chev Scottsdale K30
4 door
Originally a 6.2 diesel but now has an early 70's SBC 350 with some performance mods (Intake, Holley carb etc)
Rockers and cab corners need replacing on both sides, drivers fender is dented and has 1 little hole, box seems solid, everything seems complete
