After parking my truck, I noticed a lot of coolant running out from under my truck. After opening the hood, all the hoses looked good and the coolant was flowing from the water pump area.
Is it safe to assume this was coming from the weep hole on the pump, or maybe a gasket failure? Or am I looking at something more serious? I'll replace the pump tonight, but I always thought it would leak slower and drip out rather than flow out when the water pump seal fails.
If it matters, this is a '78 GMC and the motor is a 290hp GM replacement 350ci.
