Does anyone have any recommendations for a vinyl conditioner that will keep it pliable and help a good dash pad last a while longer. My 85 dash is crack free and I'd like to use something on it to keep it that way.

I just use ArmorAll or Meguire's wipes every so often. In hot weather I leave the windows down during the day (at work or home, even if I'm not driving it) and often use a reflective windshield shade.

My tonneau cover came with a specific recommendation not to use ArmorAll because it makes vinyl shrink. As Wavy Gravy said, you may take that with however many grains of salt you wish.

Other than keeping it clean I don't use anything on my dash. I'm only on my second one in thirty years and it still looks good.

No more comment at all? All similar brands or just ArmorAll?

I use Lexol for the seats in my 99 Trans Am. I used Meguiars M39 on my 79 Trans Am when I first got it to deep clean the seats and I plan on going with Meguiars M40 for routine cleaning. Havent used the M40 yet but I was happy with the M39.

Product Description

A leather conditioner containing lanolin and bee’s wax for cleaning and hydrating leather.
Contains no harsh chemicals or abrasives that could damage fine leather.
For use in home, auto and office.
Not for use on suede.

Used this for years when I had my detail shop. Still use it now. Haven't found a better product for vinyl or leather. It doesn't leave a greasy film and soaks right in leaving it soft and new feeling. Smells really nice and clean too.

Another for Lexol, it was recommended to me by someone that owned a detail shop. It kept the white leather in he car I had durable and soft.

Would either of these work on the padded dash in my Nomad? It is kind of a grainey finish and I have to clean it first. Scares me to do anything with it for fear of screwing it up. It is not brittle or hard yet , what do you guys think?

I believe Lexol is made for leather so I use that on leather. For vinyl I use Meguiars. I didnt do my dash yet but the seats in my 79 were in good shape (pliable) but dirty. The M39 made them look pretty damn good for a almost 40 year old interior.

M39 is a heavy duty cleaner
M40 is light cleaner / conditioner

If you use M39 just check on a small inconspicuous spot before slappin it on your old dash.
