Recently pulled my original vent window out and dropped a new lmc vent window assembly in. Since my original window frame had a broken weld at the pivot post, i decided to take everything apart...had an idea to strip the chrome plating off the latch, end cap, and push button, hand engrave them, add some 24kt gold inlay for the bow tie. The latch and end cap will be chrome plated again after I’m done cutting. Oh and I engraved that end cap to match the Silverado fender badge. Lemme know what y’all think

That’s nice. I had an idea about the trim line on the dash (at vent level) that wraps around to the doors. I wanted to get some steel flat stock to replace the strips and have it engraved by a pro with a Sierra mountain scene.

If you’re thinking of a mountain scene similar to the hunting scenes that are engraved on shotguns, in the bulino style, from a master engraver, you better be seated when they quote you for a job like that. Might be cheaper to do a few frame-off restos instead !

My best friend engraves rifles and powder horns on the side. Gets $1500 for the rifles and $450 for the powder horns.....and has a wait list.

Quite the art.

I'd like to know how the Vent window assemblies from LMC were. Fit well? were they the entire vent window assembly? What year is your truck, and which p/n from LMC did you order?
Thanks!
