Has anybody sent their vent window frames out to get black zinc plating? I want to rebuild the vent windows and want a satin black, not shiney. I don't want to paint them, I want something that will stay on and not scratch easily. Just wondering what everybody uses on these. It looks like the factory didn't use anything on mine. Thanks,

I just painted mine and glad I didn't spend a lot because I scratched them putting everything back together.

I figure I will scratch them also, that's why I'm leaning towards zinc plate. But that may scratch also, idk.

I had mine powder coated satin black. Super tough and looks great.
I thought of powder coat but I thought it may be too thick to let the glass fit inside the channel. But I guess not, I may do that.

Also, painters tape on them during install would probbaly help keep scratches away. SOmething I didn't think of until afterwards.
