I had a valve cover leak, last time I put the gasket on i did not have the yellow glue I usually use.
BEHOLD: Its yellow weatherstrip adhesive.
I wiped the oil out of the channel so the glue has something to stick too.
Just a thin bead around the parameter to tack the gasket in place.
Stick the gasket to the glue and let it sit for a while. Ensure your bolt holes line up with holes in the gasket and PRESTO! My Dad showed me this trick and I have used it since.
