Not a bad idea.....
....a 350 TBI from the 88-93 trucks?

If you do go this route, just know these are the worst heads GM ever mass produced.
My 1995 Sub will confirm this with terrible mileage and low power.

Use them if you must, but plan for an upgrade in the future after the swap is done and running.

I will disagree on the heads, but that's just me.So The 193 are a great torque head at low rpm, with the high swirl they aren't as octane sensitive, don't require as much timing for a complete burn and do just what the engineers set out to do. Research high swirl heads GM wasn't the first to do this.

That is no aimed at anyone at all it is just an invitation for people to actually research the swirl port heads.

You are correct @Ricko1966
They do exactly as the engineers have wanted.

But if you are looking for something better than that of a totally stock engine, use different heads.
The swirl-ports are 100% finished at 4000 rpms.

They move the 6,000 sub and do what we ask of it, but if I have to do major surgery to the engine those heads will not be making a return.

Oh yea there done at 4500. But 300hp to is very doable on them. And a stock tbi motor with just headers and a small cam they're fine.

As a matter of fact the stock tbi and tiny cam is more of a hindrance than the 193 heads.

Ended up going with an LS and an AR5 manual transmission.
