I changed out the light switch and must've accidentally fixed one ground issue and my door ajar/jam switch on my drivers side went from thinking it's always closed to always opened. I didnt mind before but now I got a battery drain issue.
There's a tan wire connected up to the switch, but no white wire. Haynes mentions nothing bout two wires, but the Chilton shows two on the drivers side switch.
I verified that the white wire on all the other door jams are connected to each other at least (those always worked). These are definitely not connected up to the tan wire. Tan wire i believe should be for the buzzer when the keys are in the ignition with the door open.
It looks like the previous owner replaced the door jam switch and snipped off one terminal leaving only the buzzer connected. Which means the white wire is definitely lost inside the door frame. I did find a grommet inside with specifically white and tan wires coming in. They both appear to be connected up near the fuse box, so I don't think that part of the harnessing is an issue (yet).
Ultimately, I have REALLY stupid questions that I haven't found much about online yet.
1) How do you remove the grommet inside the truck with those two wires coming in? I would prefer not to completely destroy it if possible.
2) What's the best way to fish that wire through the door frame up to the door jam switch from the grommet?
