USA made sliding window assembly?

Anybody know if there are any small businesses or other companies selling an American made sliding rear window assembly? There's gotta be someone out there, as popular as these trucks are. Not gonna put any of that ***** crap on my truck lol. LMC is not made in USA, already tried there. I'd buy an original, but nobody seems to make new seals for them.

If you’re referring to the main seal/gasket the goes on the body..
Precision Rubber Products now makes the gasket for the Original sliders. And the gasket for solid rear windows is the same one you’d use for an aftermarket style slider with a flange.

Don't see one on their website, both seals say not for original sliders. I think the windows changed in '81. Not sure if a '81-87 slider would fit my cab or not. But all the seals I've seen for a factory slider are for '81+

I don't know if a window from one of those years will fit my '77. Anyone know? The newer trucks had numerous changes. If that year range slider will fit, I'll look for one on ebay.

I honestly don’t know if the seals for your year truck are different.. I always thought they were the same… BTW Facebook Marketplace always has Original Sliders. There’s a few on there now if the seller will ship it to you.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, I believe Pass-Port Sliders are U.S made… ?

The tricky part will be finding one for an '84-87 truck. I have a feeling that the window frame is probably different since all the seals are only for those year trucks.

Most of the listings I've seen just say it's out of a squarebody, or fits '73-87. Most folks don't know the multitude of changes that these trucks had over the years, especially from '81 on. I never did either, until I bought one. Always figured it was the exact same truck from 73-87 with just minor style changes.

That’s interesting, I wonder why Precision Rubber doesn’t list ‘73-‘80 as fitting their gasket ?

Yeah, the aftermarket ones all use the 1 piece window gasket and are universal from '73-87/91. I'm not against an aftermarket slider, I just want an American made one. I wish I could remember what brand the one is I have in the Dodge. It said made in USA on the box. It's a great unit, nice and tight, no vibrations, rattles or leaks.

Well, good thing my dad is a pack rat haha... he actually saved the packing slip from the box my Dodge slider came in. It's made by C.R. Laurence. I just checked, and they make one for these trucks too. I'm waiting on 100% confirmation from the company that is is indeed made in USA. Hopefully I'll hear from them on Monday.

While the cab frame is the same, the thickness of the glass got thinner. Not sure when that changed but if you look through glass catalogs you'll see thicker glass specified and still available for the early trucks. Most use the more common thinner glass and seal when installing new glass.

Yeah, that's what I want. The tint is part of the glass, not a film. I got new US made door and vent glass coming that also incorporates the tint into the glass itself. Keeps the dog's toenails from shredding the film haha.

Just to add a note, the back glass opening/back cab panel is the same '73-87. The glass shape and the seals are all the same, the only change is '81-up went to slightly thinner glass to save weight in order to help meet CAFE standards. Even though the later glass is thinner, it's only a MM or so difference, so the gaskets are all the same from '73-87.
