I recently installed new door seals on my 82 C10 Custom Deluxe, the ones that mount to the cab.

Several vendors also show "upper door seals" for 73-87 pickups that are mounted on the door, but I see no sign of those having been used on my truck. Were they used only for certain years, or upscale models?

Here's the SoffSeal upper door seals:

I always thought they were only 79 & 80 trucks, but Precision shows for 78-82. The OEM ones had screw attachments at either end (molded in metal tabs). I had installed them on my '77 K5 back in the early 90's.

Precision sells them for about $31 ea. You have to use adhesive between the screws, but I'm sure you could use 3M tape to do the same as above.

Those weatherstrips were installed on the uplevel trucks. It went into the later years too, but maybe with a slightly different design.

If I am not mistaken was standard on the Cheyenne and above trucks (or GMC/Year difference equivalents) My 76 has em (Cheyenne), 79 doesn't (Custom Deluxe)
