That might be the reason why I felt fan in my 1991 suburban blows more than good enough

Turns out that after buying the "larger" blower fan as per the instructions.....My 87 silverado already has the exact same fan as the later model 2500 silverado. There is no need to buy a fan for the 2500. The fan with the correct sized squirrel cage fan is in a 1987 silverado. If you want to upgrade to the correct fan and NOT have to remove the squirrel cage to the larger motor, just ask for a blower fan for a 1987 silverado.

Could be that they upgraded the fan motor with the facelift in '81. Could also be that it has the same cowling depth as the later '94 truck I mentioned in the OP. Could you measure the depth from the flange to the end of the squirrel cage? I'm worried that it's not the same as the earlier (73-80) squarebodies.

The guy did a good job so for earlier trucks it is an upgrade. I have the 87 a/c motor with a non A/c fan.... because bigger is better right? Lol

So I did a little looking around RockAuto to see what blowers cross-reference across models and what I discovered is that... the blower for an 86 C30 (like mine) is the exact same part as the one used on a 97 k2500. Same part numbers.

So, at least for my 86, I am already using the "upgraded" blower. I would probably see a difference if I replaced it, but only because it would be new.

Take a look at RockAuto for parts cross-reference. Its great for that.

Edit: I only looked at the A/C model of the C30. Maybe A/C vs heat-only makes a difference?

Awesome, well I'll update the OP letting people know this is for '80 and before trucks. Wish someone with a newer truck would find an upgrade for theirs then we would have it complete for the series.
