I looked up the RPO codes from the glovebox and was able to match just about all of them. It was great to see what my truck came with from the factory, and everything lines up nicely.
However, I could not find these RPO codes listed below.
Anybody know what they are?

E6C
FLT
TFD
XYT
YYT

For reference: 1987 V20 Scottsdale Suburban, SB350 TBI, SM465, A/C, no cruise, no power window/lock, yes power brakes and steering.

Here's the generic info packet from the GM Heritage Center archive, for your amusement:

https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/do...ion-kits/Suburban/1987-Chevrolet-Suburban.pdf

Codes are as follows:

E6C = GVW code 8600 lbs
FLT = Flint Assembly plant code (all R/V Suburbans and Blazers were built in Flint only)
TFD = SALES INCENTIVE RETAIL AMENITIES - DELETE (some kind of promotion code, which are not saved for posterity)
XYT = front tire RPO code (LT235-85R16E)
YYT = rear tire RPO code (same)

There should be a ZYT as well, which would be the spare tire code (unless no spare was ordered). This allows the purchaser to select a different style of tire for front, rear and spare.

Thanks for the info and that link! Great read!

Strange there would be double codes though...

C6P and E6C are both for 8600 GVWR? (or one's for frame, one's for axles or something)

CMD and FLT both for Flint assembly plant? Or specific parts are both made in Flint? (and they could be done at different plants for different models)

Pretty sure the C6P is the springs, and the E6C may be the brakes. There are different brakes on the squares depending on GVWR and engine size which determines which rear axle you'll have in the later models. Small blocks usually got the Semi Float 14b, Big Blocks got the Full Float 14 bolt. In the earlier models, all had the Full Float in the 3/4 tons.

Yes - C6P is te GVW rating itself and E6C drives some of the specific components themselves, like springs.

Yes - those seem redundant and different codes are used during different model years. This refers to the vehicle assembly location, not specific "parts" as most parts are not made in Flint (radiator supports, front end sheetmetal and fuel tanks were made in Flint - and V8 engines - but that's about it).
