Universal throttle cable bracket

in the process of installing mr gasket throttle cable and I realized that the plastic bracket that attaches to the gas pedal arm slips out when I apply pressure to the gas pedal. Does anybody have any experience with this?

Here's another picture with the bracket in the pedal arm. It's just a plastic clip that gets pushed into the pedal arm, but small amount of pressure results in the clip just being pushed out.

You might can cut the groove a little wider in the plastic and use a c-clip or snap ring to hold it. Just make sure there's no binding. Lube it with some Vaseline or something.

That sounds like a great idea! I've been trying to figure this out for hours now. I wish things would just work like they're supposed to.

Yeah a lot of those aftermarket parts need a little attention sometimes.

Don't look like there is very much sticking through. Might want to take some from the other side if possible.

GP's on it. Maybe the teeth/lips are rounded out enough to pop it out? You sure it doesn't go into it from the other direction? Put a smaller ID washer on the plastic bit after you have it in place like the second pic.....may have to trim some like GP said. Then it would bite the washer and the washer would keep it in place.

Thanks Camar068 I did have it goinin backeards. However in my defense the instructions explicitly showed the clip going in the wrong direction. But everything's all good now and the truck is up and running again.

Sounds like you got pointed in the right way. That Mr. Gasket stuff doesn't just bolt on. I had to take out my deemed out and trim the bracket I got for the cables to bolt to the carb.
